Six V Same Difference

Flop Irish reality tv band SIX released Let me be the One as their second single in Ireland back in 2001 before going their seperate ways.

6 Years later it appeared on the Debut album from Same Difference, another reality tv act.

To be honest I could post at least another 5  from Same Difference as their debut album was made of nearly all covers!

Bananarama V Steps

Movin On was recorded by Bananarama on their first album as a duo back in 1992.

And turned up on Steps 2nd album Steptacular 7yrs later in 1999!

Steps Get Covered

Well, I was shocked to Discover yesterday that one of their songs has now been covered, and do people even know??

The track is LOVE U MORE and This is the version of the song recorded for their first album Step One back in 1998.

And here is new Singer/Song writer SUNDAY GIRL and her cover of the STEPS song.

It was released in December in the UK but ive never heard of it and I dont know if it even charted.

Great effort, but clearly you cant beat STEPS!

K25

So as we all know Kylie celebrates her 25th year in the music business this year and shes releasing a new Greatest Hits package with reworked version of some of her biggest hits!

As a treat for fans shes releasing previews and surprises throughout the year and this was the second K25 treat the other day.

On a night like this is one of my fave Kylie tracks, and this version just makes me fall in love with the song all over again!

I cant wait to see what else she has for us in the year of K25!

THE PIANO GUYS

I discovered these guys a few months back, and all i can say is AMAZING.

They make fantastic videos, and great covers using their Piano and Cello.

Could listen to them all day, real relaxing inspiring music!

Loreen is the favourite to win the Melodifestivalen 2012 on March 10th and represent Sweden at the ESC. Its a great song, and ive been playing it non stop so I hope she gets through to go up against Jedward =)

Sinead O'Connor is Back!

I am a huge Sinead O'Connor fan and have been with years, was even lucky enough to see her live when she came to South in Tramore.

Shes had her ups and downs and to be honest her last 2 albums werent that good, in fact quite they were very bad lol

But shes back next month with a brand new album, theres the cover right there <-
Its a custom painting by some artist in Dublin.

Ive been listening to it non stop since i got it last week, and its some of her best work yet.

Shes definitley back to her best.

FLASHBACK - SPAGNA

Ivana Spagna or just Spagna is a Singer/Songwriter from Italy.
She wrote songs for dance projects until 1986 when she decided to have a go herself.
It was her 3rd Single "Call Me" that got her noticed when it went to No.2 in the UK charts.
Its now her most famous song, which she recorded a slow version with a piano in 2004, and a dance version in 2010.
She recorded a version of  Elton Johns The Cirlce Of Life for the Italian version of The Lion King soundtrack which went to No.3 in the Italian charts.
She has had 17 albums, with her latest "FOUR" being released just last month.
Her album and single sales have been more than 10,000,000.

Not much is known about her personal life, although she has had a lot of cosmetic surgery, and now looks like a cross between Cher and Pete Burns.

So this is Whitney Houstons first ever recorded vocal at the age of 15 back in 1978 on the track Lifes a prty!

Listen out for the lines “Lift your head up when life looks dreary, let your wishes climb to the sky.”

You can tell clearly that its Whitney Houston.

She was credited on the Notes for this song.

GIRLS NIGHT

Tonight i went to see the Comedy Musical GIRLS NIGHT.

Lorraine Keane, Sorcha Furlong & Hilda Fay were among the women who laughed, cried, sang and danced their way though the 2 hour show.

It was fantastic!! and its doing a nationwide tour until April check it out here

So only a few hours after the first listen to Madonnas new single Girl Gone Wild, heres the album version with added intro "apparently" i say apparently because it sounds an awful lot like a track from Confessions, so it may or not be an outake from the recording sessions.. we will have to wait and see.. have a listen!

Star Wars / Dallas opening

I was brought up on both Dallas & Star Wars, well truth be told I watched Dallas with my mother and my brothers watched Star Wars with my Dad, but still.

Im very excited for the return of Dallas in the Summer, and I thought this video was very well done :)

Girl Gone Wild

Ok so the 2nd (rushed and renamed) single from Madonnas upcoming album MDNA.

Well its certainly gettin people divided on their opinions as usual..

Personally I love Confessions of a Dancefloor and to me this sounds like a sequel!

So for me this is BRILLIANT!!!

After 1 listen i had the chorus in my head, and thats not something you can do with alot of songs!!

Cant wait to hear more of the album!!

SMASH

SMASH started just 2 weeks ago in America, im not sure when its coming over here, but thanks to the joys of online streaming I got to watch the first 3 episodes!!

Its about 2 of my all time favourite things.

MARILYN MONROE + MUSICALS = SMASH

It Stars Angelica Huston and Debra Messing along with American Idol runner up Katharine McPhee and is directed by Steven Spielberg!

Clearly its getting compared to GLEE, but the difference is SMASH is not just doing cover versions, its full of original songs that make up Marilyn The Musical.

Everybody should see this! Heres my favourite song from it!!
